Construction of the two new residential facilities in Worth Hills is on schedule for completion by the first week in August. One of the buildings has been named Marion Hall. The name recognizes Honorary Trustee Anne Marion, her husband John, and The Burnett Foundation for a recent gift, as well as long-standing and extraordinary philanthropic support.
The new facilities will enable approximately 400 more upper level-students to benefit from the TCU residential experience, a key element of the strategic plan to create The Academy of Tomorrow. The sophomore halls will feature two-, three-, and four-bedroom suites, as well as student study space. Both facilities are scheduled for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
A third residence hall is under construction in Worth Hill Hills. Designed for upper division students, it is scheduled to open in August 2014.
