Published: 12/2/2013

The Department of State and Health Services (DSHS) has awarded a five-year Community Coalition Partnership Grant to Tarrant County Challenge, Inc. for the creation of a Community Coalition Project (CCP) on the TCU campus.

The coalition will engage environmental strategies and a social norming campaign to raise community awareness of alcohol and drug issues. The coalition will bring together various sectors of the community to address this public health concern and expand the programs and services already in place at TCU to address alcohol and drug abuse.

Tiara Nugent of Tarrant Count Challenge will join the TCU Alcohol & Drug Education Center as the CCP program director. Sparkle Greenhaw will be the grant contact for TCU. Tarrant County Challenge is a Fort Worth-based non-profit agency dedicated to eliminating substance abuse in Tarrant County by mobilizing the community to develop and implement comprehensive, coordinated strategies for substance abuse prevention, intervention, treatment and awareness.
