Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences, in collaboration with the TCU Wellness Committee, is hosting a TCU Connections Health Fair on Wed., April 21 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the University Rec Center, (Multi-purpose Room 1). The event is being organized by nursing students in the public health practicum. There will be door prizes, refreshments and demonstrations. Attendees can register to win a free Wii Fit bundle, along with earning one (1) incentive point from the TCU Wellness Program.
Based on information received from the TCU Wellness Committee, the fair has been tailored to address issues TCU employees indicated are important to them such as various types of cancer, nutrition, respiratory related health problems, cardiac health issues and muscular/skeletal/stress issues.
TCU will have our insurance carriers represented (CIGNA, Prevention Plan, Best Docs, Vision Care) and Camp Fire will also be there with information about our new childcare network services. In addition Camp Fire will sponsor a lunch and learn at noon in Room 48 in the Recreation Center to talk about the childcare network services.
At the event, nursing students will provide various resources and tool kits concerning access to a variety of healthcare resources for those with limited or no health care coverage. For any questions on the event, contact heather.gilliam@tcu.edu.
