The TCU football team is 15th in the preseason USA Today coaches' poll, representing its second-highest preseason ranking since 1960.
Over the last 51 seasons, this year's No. 15 spot is surpassed only by last year's No. 7 position.
TCU returns 11 starters from last year's Rose Bowl championship team that closed the year ranked second. Over the last three seasons, TCU is the only school in the nation to be ranked in the season-ending top 10 in both the Associated Press and USA Today polls.
TCU's streak of being ranked in 42 consecutive polls is the longest in school history and fourth-longest currently in the nation. The Horned Frogs have been ranked in every poll since Oct. 15, 2008.
It's the seventh time since 2000 that TCU has been ranked in the preseason.
TCU's 66-11 (.857) record since 2005 is the second-best mark in the nation. The Horned Frogs have won at least 10 games seven times in the last nine seasons, including six campaigns with at least 11 victories.
TCU opens the 2011 campaign Sept. 2 at Baylor. The Friday 7 p.m. game will be televised on ESPN.
