As evidenced by the number of tornadoes that touched down in the area a couple of weeks ago, we see that spring and summer weather in Texas can be violent and produce tornadoes and severe thunderstorms. It is volatile and can change at any time.

 

Students, faculty and staff should not wait for storm information from TCU ALERT. Rather, they should monitor local news reports via television, radio or the Internet and listen for sirens (if the situation calls for such action), which will be activated by the City of Fort Worth's Department of Emergency Preparedness. If a storm presents a direct threat to the campus, TCU Alert may be activated to warn the campus community to seek shelter. This information will be available on the recorded information line at 866-634-8254 and available on www.tcu.edu.
