Jacob Hacker, a foremost expert on health care policy and the growing gap between rich and poor, will speak here Tuesday, Feb. 19. He is this year’s Cecil H. and Ida Green Honors Chair for the Dept. of Political Science.

The program, titled “Is American Politics Undermining the American Dream, will be at 7 p.m. in the BLUU ballroom. The event is free and open to the public.

Hacker is the Stanley B. Resor Professor of Political Science and director of its Institution for Social and Policy Studies at Yale University. His remarks will focus on rising economic inequality and America’s dysfunctional political system, with an emphasis on current economic, health care and budget debates.
