Open your home for a TCU Family Dinner Aug. 17?


Each fall, Student Affairs welcomes more than 1,800 members of the incoming class to campus during Frogs First - a cohort-based new student experience. One of the highlights of these four days is TCU Family Dinner. The Family Dinner program takes place in faculty/staff homes where new students share a meal and experience the family-like atmosphere so unique to TCU. In order to make this program possible, please consider opening your own home as a host site for an evening.

The 2013 Family Dinner will be held Saturday, Aug. 17 from 6:15 - 7:45 p.m. Groups will depart campus between 5:30 - 5:45 p.m., so start time is based on arrival time at your site; departure time is up to you as the site host – some groups may end earlier and some may go longer.

Each group will have two upper-class student leaders and between 20 and 25 new students. The supplies, including meal, beverages, paper goods, dessert, nametags, and a host guide, will be provided by Student Activities and Sodexo.

Adjustments have been made to the 2013 Dinners to simplify hosting and attending a dinner. Some of those improvements include:
• Every group will be bused to their host home to ensure participant safety and an on-time arrival
• Meals will be available for pick-up at TCU during the week to allow hosts to adequately prepare (and we promise no giant sandwiches!)
• Nametags and a host guide will be provided to help facilitate group interaction during the meal

All that is required to host is welcoming space and a friendly face.
