Campus United Way campaign under way
The University is launching its 2013 United Way Campaign with an announced goal of $120,000. The effort begins today, Oct. 14, and continues for three weeks.
This year’s campus United Way Campaign co-chairs are Chris Sawyer (Professor of Communication Studies and Chair of the Faculty Senate) and Aisha Torrey-Sawyer (Director of the Neeley Academic Advising Center and Chair of the Staff Assembly), assisted by Nancy Styles (Marketing & Communication), campus campaign coordinator. Meetings can be scheduled for every area of campus, where faculty and staff will have an opportunity to learn more about United Way, the services provided, and how to make pledges to the 2013 United Way campaign.
Chris and Aisha say: “Among our greatest strengths, perhaps, are our sense of community and our commitment to building a better world. Through our annual participation in the United Way, we are helping to make Tarrant County a healthier, more compassionate and prosperous place for all its citizens. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of many families.”
All faculty and staff will be receiving their packets by interoffice mail today and again it will be possible to make your pledge online. Watch for an email message today from Chris and Aisha and United Way, explaining the process and instructing users how to access the online donation form. TCU employees have several options for donations. They may select the payroll deduction method, credit card, cash or check or request billing from United Way.
Again this year, Tarrant County United Way is focusing on three issues: Education, Income and Health. They also have special focuses on Homelessness and the Women’s Endowment Fund. There are 43 community partner agencies and more than 100 United Way funded programs serving Tarrant County. For more information, call Nancy at ext. 7808.
