Dr. David Cozzens named Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
Dr. David S. Cozzens has accepted the position of Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Dean of Campus Life at TCU, effective Jan. 1, 2014. He replaces Suzi Adams who retired in August after 38 years of service to TCU.
Dr. Cozzens comes to the University from Laramie, Wyo., where he has been Associate Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students at the University of Wyoming since 2007.
Prior to that, he was chair of the Division of Student Life at Ohio Wesleyan University. He is a licensed psychologist who has successfully built coalitions on alcohol abuse, sexual abuse and suicide prevention.
A graduate of the University of Wyoming where he also earned a master’s degree in guidance and counseling education, Dr. Cozzens received a doctorate in counseling psychology from the University of North Dakota. He and his wife of 32 years, Donna, have two adult children, Lindsay and Jason.
“Dr. Cozzens will bring a wealth of experience and expertise to his role at TCU. His strong background and leadership in student health and wellness will be assets to our programs and services for students,” says Dr. Kathy Cavins-Tull, Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs. “I think the TCU community will really enjoy Dr. Cozzen’s ability to connect with students, faculty and staff.”
