Lecture on U.S. business in China set for Sept. 17


The Dept. of Economics will present a one-hour lecture on "U.S. Firms in China: Timing, Entry Mode, and the Role of Corruption" at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 in Scharbauer Hall, rm. 4015.

 

 

Economics professor Rossitza Wooster from Portland State University will present a paper on the expansion strategies of U.S. business between 1980 and 2005. Her study examines the timing, entry mode and level of investment by 404 American companies in China, as well as the impact of corruption and other local conditions on the expansion patterns of these firms.
