Stay indoors as much as possible, especially during the worst heat of the day. Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing. Avoid heavy meals. Drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty. Avoid alcoholic beverages. Protect your skin from sunburn.
Signs of heat exhaustion: Heavy sweating, weakness. Skin is cold, pale and clammy. Pulse is thread. Normal temperature is possible. Vomiting and fainting.
Signs of heat stroke: High body temperature. Hot dry skin. Rapid and strong pulse. Delirious or unconsciousness.
