TCU Theatre presents "The Yellow Boat" this week

Theatre TCU presents The Yellow Boat by David Saar, Thursday through Sunday in the Studio Theatre in the Walsh Performing Arts Center.  Tickets are $5 for faculty, staff and students.

The play is based on the true story of the author’s young son, Benjamin, who was born with congenital hemophilia which led to AIDS-related complications. However, Benjamin is able to transform the world around him with his gifted artistic talents by turning his feelings into pictures filled with shapes and colors. While turning his world into his canvas, Benjamin teaches his family and everyone in his life a valuable life lesson.

This student production, directed by Craig Robertson, features Marisa Bonahoom, Annie Burton, Tyler Krieg, Mark Laird Andrew McGlothen, Laura Saladino and Matt Slayter. The show’s production team includes Christina Chester (scenic designer), Stevie Tardiff (costume designer), Jim Rogers (lighting designer), as well as TCU students Matt Wofford (sound designer), and Jessica Cook (stage manager).

Performances are at 5:30 p.m. Thursday/Friday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. (There will be no performance Saturday). Call the TCU Box Office at ext. 8080 to reserve tickets.
