Rankin Nursing Lectureship set for April 24


An annual program in Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences, the W.F. “Tex” and Pauline Rankin Lectureship in Nursing provides complimentary Continuing Nursing Education. Bobbie Berkowitz, Ph.D., RN, FAAN will present “Promoting Health Equity: Evidence Based Programs in Public Health” at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, in the BLUU ballroom. Berkowitz is currently the dean and Mary O’Neil Mundinger Professor of Nursing at Columbia University School of Nursing and senior vice president of the Columbia University Medical Center. She directed the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Nursing Research Center for the Advancement of Health Disparities Research and the National Program Office for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Turning Point Initiative. Berkowitz currently serves on the boards of the Public Health Foundation and the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. She is an elected Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing and elected member of the Institute of Medicine. Her areas of expertise and research include public health systems and health equity.
